Massage Therapy
Massage therapy combines the healing arts with medical science to help you maintain, or return to your optimal function. Registered Massage Therapists (RMT's') use various techniques, rehabilitative exercises, posture training and client education to achieve your health and wellness goals
On your first visit, you will fill out an intake form, including your medical history. Your RMT, after interviewing you and performing an assessment, will develop a treatment plan that addresses your individual needs, and will then help you bring the plan into reality. Massage therapy is safe, smart and effective health care.
If a patient is eligible, RMT's in BC. are able to bill directly to the provincial Medical Plan (MSP) for Massage Therapy services. RMT's are also able to bill for ICBC related Massage Therapy services. At Somatic Balance, we directly bill for DVA and RCMP patient visits. No doctor referral is required to see an RMT, however, some extended medical plans do stipulate that you need a referral from your doctor before they can reimburse you. You are encouraged to check with your extended medical plan to see how Massage Therapy services are covered for you.
